Defense powers Broncos, Peyton Manning to Super Bowl 50 win

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Dont say quarterback Peyton Manning didnt tell you exactly how the Denver Broncos would win Super Bowl 50.Manning said, over and over throughout Super Bowl week, that no matter his right arm felt, no matter how his left foot felt, it has been the Broncos bruise-inflicting, quarterback-rattling defense that got us here, lets just make that clear.

Five free agents worth the gamble

Dexter Fowler's consistency puts him on David Schoenfield's list of five free agents teams should consider signing.

BRONCOS 24, PANTHERS 10 (Final): The Panthers imploded on the biggest stage of all with four turnovers, 11 penalties and multiple dropped passes. League MVP Cam Newton didn't have enough time to do what he has done all season, and as a result the Panthers didn't get to dance one more time.

Cool of Norman to salute Manning. Talked this week about always being Manning when he played Madden as a kid. #SB50

Denver's C.J. Anderson was +170 to score a touchdown. He also went over 58.5 rushing yards while it looks like Peyton Manning will stay well under 235.5 passing yards. Carolina's Cam Newton did go over 235.5 passing yards and over 41.5 rushing yards.

Barring a big surprise late, it looks like Peyton Manning will win two championships with huge assists from his defenses, which is typically how it goes for QBs. The 2006 Colts D with Bob Sanders in the lineup was very good in the playoffs. This Denver D is much better. How it's done.

Denver pulls ahead 24-10...the successful 2-point conversion cashed at +330 at Westgate SuperBook and is one of the more popular props bets. I'm watching in a Wynn ballroom and it seemed like more people cheered the 2-pt conversion than the touchdown.
