The RHP will start Thursday for the Royals after not playing since June 12 due to ulnar nerve irritation in his right elbow, which caused bouts of numbness. Ventura dealt with a slight recurrence of the symptoms in his final Triple-A rehab start but it won't keep him off the mound.

Haynesworth regrets leaving Titans

Albert Haynesworth, regarded as a free-agent bust in Washington, wrote in The Players' Tribune that he never should have left Tennessee for a $100M deal with the Redskins. In a letter to his younger self, Haynesworth writes: "If nothing else, listen to me on this, Albert: Do not leave the Tennessee Titans."
