Mason repeats at ASA

ASA Action SportsMason already has one of these on his mantel.

Mike Mason has repeated as ASA Action Sports World Champion, taking down Nate Adams in the final Saturday night at the L.A. County fairgrounds in Pomona, Calif. En route to the final, Mason went through Australia's Robbie Adelberg and Todd Potter, who only earned a berth into the competition after Javier Villegas over rotated a backflip and broke his wrist in practice. Mason was helped in his pursuit of the win by an error on Adams' part, when Adams accidentally left the track after landing a huge 360 nac.

Early on, Adams appeared to be the form rider of the event, taking down Taka Higashino with the 360 nac and a stripper flip before beating Adam Jones in the final.

In other injury news, Levi Sherwood was carted out of the event on ambulance after a crash that injured both his leg and wrist. Sherwood's crash came in the first round against Potter, advancing Potter into the semifinal, where he was stopped by Mason.
