Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC East:
  • New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan says he is focused on his team this week and not tweaking the New England Patriots.
Morning take: Usually this week would be filled with trash talking. But it’s a short week of preparing for both teams and little time for theatrics.
  • Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez says everyone has to step up in Rob Gronkowski’s absence.
Morning take: Hernandez is certainly talented enough to shoulder the load. But his ankle puts his status in question for Thursday’s game against the Jets.
Morning take: The Bills have been better against the run lately, which has been a problem most of the season. The Colts are 14th in rushing and have done well in spurts.
  • Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman says the lack of a running game is a huge issue.
Morning take: It’s probably the biggest reason the offense has stalled. Miami’s offensive line is getting little push and is not creating lanes for the running backs.
