Morning take: Report says Tannenbaum out

Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:
  • Lisa Zimmerman of CBSSports.com reports the New York Jets will relieve general manager Mike Tannenbaum of his duties on Monday.
Morning take: This is the expected result in New York. The bigger question is will the Jets simply demote Tannenbaum or fire him altogether? That could determine the quality of candidate the Jets could land.
Morning take: It shows the Dolphins lack game-breaking talent. Miami has a lot of decent players but not a lot of elite players. That is what's needed for Miami to take the next step.
Morning take: The Bills need to re-sign safety Jairus Byrd and guard Andy Levitre. Those should be the two top priorities, and Buffalo can build from there.
  • Tedy Bruschi and Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com examines how the New England Patriots should approach this regular-season finale against Miami.
Morning take: There are a lot of factors, but the Patriots should play to win. The only concern would be avoiding major injuries before the postseason.
