Browns to interview Kelly on Friday

January, 2, 2013
The Cleveland Browns could be one step closer to getting their top target in their coaching search. Cleveland is reportedly set to interview Oregon coach Chip Kelly on Friday.

The interview would take place one day after Oregon plays in the Fiesta Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles are also reportedly interested in Kelly.

There has been speculation that the Browns would turn their attention to Penn State coach Bill O'Brien if they are unable to get Kelly. The Browns fired coach Pat Shurmur on Monday, a day after Cleveland finished 5-11.

As the Browns prepare to talk to Kelly, you can scratch one candidate off the Browns' interview list. Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dick Koetter signed a contract extension and won't seek a head coaching job this year.
