Free agency officially begins March 12, so the AFC North blog is counting down the 20 best free agents (unrestricted and restricted) from the teams in the division. Let's continue with No. 19 ...

BRYANT McKINNIE

Ravens offensive tackle

Status: Unrestricted free agent

The good: McKinnie salvaged his season, and perhaps career, in the playoffs. An injury to Jah Reid forced McKinnie into the starting lineup after not starting a game in the regular season. McKinnie held up remarkably well in the postseason, allowing two sacks despite going against Dwight Freeney, Elvis Dumervil and Aldon Smith.

The bad: He'll be 34 when the 2013 season begins and will never be described as a high-effort player. McKinnie struggled with weight issues in minicamp and skipped the start of training camp. In other words, there's a lot of baggage.

The bottom line: No team is going to throw a lot of money at McKinnie because you can't depend on him. I don't see McKinnie coming back to the Ravens unless it's at a bargain price. It looks like the Ravens will go with the younger linemen already under contract. If the Giants' Will Beatty and the Chiefs' Branden Albert get the franchise tags, it would take two of the best available left tackles off the free-agent market and increase McKinnie's chances of catching on elsewhere.
