Where they stand in key categories

Here's our weekly look at where the teams of the AFC South stand in key categories. I generally consider third-down efficiency super important. And points, of course, tend to trump all.


A few moves of note:
  • The single most interesting number here is Houston's pass defense at 17th. Just two weeks ago the Texans were third. Big passing days for Chad Henne of Jacksonville and Matthew Stafford of Detroit combined to produce a 14-spot dive. Which doesn't hurt that much when you win the two games that caused the drop.
  • The Colts dropped three spots in rush offense and gained four spots in points allowed.
  • The Jaguars improved three spots in third-down defense.
