Here's today's Reading the Coverage:
Mike Chappell of The Indianapolis Star talked to linebacker Caesar Rayford on making the team. Rayford is a feel-good story because of the road he’s taken to get to the NFL: the Canadian and Arena leagues. He didn't get invited to an NFL training camp until he was 27 years old. Now he’s on an NFL roster.
Phil Richards, also of The Star, caught up with ESPN colleague Bill Polian and talked to him about his transition from general manager to analyst. I never covered Polian, but many in the media say he was difficult to deal with because he wasn’t a fan of the media. Now he’s part of the group.
Conrad Brunner of 1070 The Fan put a wrap on the preseason by saying the starting unit is solid but there are questions about the depth of the team. Depth of receiver is a concern because the Colts kept six, but one of them -- LaVon Brazill --is suspended the first four games of the season. And a second one, David Reed, suffered a concussion against Cincinnati in the preseason finale.
Kevin Bowen from Colts.com gives his reaction to the 53-man roster.
