JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said the surgery on left tackle Luke Joeckel’s fractured right ankle went well, but he’s not sure when the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft can begin his rehab.
Surgeons used a plate to stabilize the break. Joeckel had the surgery Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C.
"I know it went very well for him," Bradley said. "There was talk of a plate, but I guess it’s pretty standard. But he felt really good about it. I didn’t get into when he’ll be ready or all of those things.
"He just felt really good, and I think he’s planning on coming back soon to Jacksonville."
The 6-foot-6, 306-pound Joeckel was hurt during the first quarter of Sunday’s 34-20 loss at St. Louis. He will miss the remainder of the season.
