CBS Sports believes the Raiders will place the franchise tag on punter Shane Lechler. They very well could, but Lechler will be 37 this summer. His production slipped a bit last season and he was dealing with injuries. Plus, the Raiders like Marquette King. If the cap is tight, Oakland could opt against using the tag on Lechler. I could see it going either way.
- The NFL Network’s report that the Chiefs want to extend receiver Dwayne Bowe is not stunning. It’s been know the Chiefs are interested in keeping both Bowe and left tackle Branden Albert.
- USA Today followed up Chris Mortensen’s report that the Chiefs are interested in Eagles’ quarterback Nick Foles. He was drafted by new Kansas City coach Andy Reid last year. If the Eagles make Foles available, expect Reid to have Foles at the top of his list.
