11 B1G teams, 25 B1G players/coaches on college Hall of Fame ballot

The 2016 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame was released Tuesday, and the Big Ten had another strong showing by accounting for nearly 31 percent of the 81-person field.

Michigan State led the way with four nominations, while four other teams had three: Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State and Purdue. Overall, the B1G has 24 players and one coach on the ballot.

Defensive line was the most prominent group with five nominations, followed by linebacker with four.

This is just the start of the Hall of Fame process, but if a player isn't on this list he doesn't have a chance at induction next year. As it stands, the announcement of this 2016 class won't be made until Jan. 8, 2016.
