Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo (hip) will be a game-time decision when the Celtics close out a four-game road trip by visiting the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.

"I have no idea [if Rondo will play], I really don't," Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters in Oakland after Saturday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. "I didn't ask. I'll ask later tonight or tomorrow. But usually I kind of let [trainer] Eddie [Lacerte] tell me. I stay out of that whole thing."
Rondo sat out Saturday's game with a bruised right hip/thigh. The injury appeared to be sustained in the fourth quarter of Thursday's lopsided loss to the Los Angeles Clippers when Rondo endured a little hip check from Matt Barnes while battling on the blocks.
The Celtics (14-15) dipped below .500 with Saturday's loss, but Rivers could give Rondo nearly a full week off if he keeps him off the floor on Sunday (Boston doesn't play again until Wednesday when the Memphis Grizzlies visit TD Garden). What's more, the Celtics are hoping to have backup guard Leandro Barbosa back with the team on Sunday after he missed the past four games while tending to a family matter.
"Again, I don't even know how bad the injury is," said Rivers. "Listen, all I know is Eddie's been in this league long enough to give me a good decision."
Rondo is averaging 13.6 points and 11.7 assists in 25 games this season.
