Trade winds: Rondo available?

From ESPN.com's Chris Broussard:

* Rapid reaction: If the Celtics elect to go the win-now route -- keeping their current roster intact and seeking upgrades with the idea of a potential larger overhaul this summer -- making Rondo available makes some sense. But it goes back to the age-old question of whether Rondo is the cornerstone for this franchise in the post-Garnett era (and whether the Celtics are willing to pay him well above his current cap-friendly deal after the 2014-15 season). Boston also has to be leery that Rondo's trade value is diminished as he rehabs from ACL surgery, but if a team was willing to part with an All-Star caliber player that Boston views as a better building block (while also aiding a push this season), it would have to consider it. The guess here is that Rondo's name is coming up as Danny Ainge gauges the value of all his assets and considers all avenues moving forward. -- Chris Forsberg

[Update: Rondo's agent told USA Today that his client has been told he won't be traded. "[Ainge] was emphatic that they would not trade Rajon Rondo," agent Bill Duffy told the paper.]
