ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports that Celtics assistant general manager Ryan McDonough is a finalist for the Suns' vacant GM position if the team cannot woo Grant Hill to an executive role:

McDonough just completed his third season as assistant GM under Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. McDonough assists Ainge on all basketball matters, but his focus has been on scouting college and international players for the NBA Draft.

McDonough, who started in the Celtics' film room as a special assistant to basketball operations, previously served as director of player personnel, director of international scouting, and director of amateur scouting for the team.

McDonough was the focal point of a spectacular recent profile by SB Nation.
