GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida assistant coach D.J. Durkin’s promotion to defensive coordinator earned him an additional $300,000 over the next two seasons.

Durkin got a contract extension through the 2014 season and will now make $490,000 annually, up from the $340,000 he was making as the Gators’ linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, according to a copy of his contract that was released on Friday.

UF also released the contracts of new receivers coach Joker Phillips and new defensive line coach/assistant head coach Brad Lawing. Phillips' contract is for two years, while Lawing received a three-year deal.

Durkin’s previous contract was scheduled to expire on Jan. 31, 2014, but the school gave him a raise and added another year when UF coach Will Muschamp promoted him to defensive coordinator to replace Dan Quinn, who took the same position with the Seattle Seahawks. Durkin’s new contract will now expire on Jan. 31, 2015.

Phillips’ contract, which is set to expire Jan. 31, 2015, includes a $265,000 annual salary. Phillips also received $2.5 million from Kentucky when he was fired as the Wildcats’ head coach last November.

Lawing’s contract, which is set to expire Jan. 31, 2016, includes a $390,000 salary. He also received a $50,000 signing bonus and is scheduled to receive another $50,000 at the conclusion of the contract.

All three coaches also have the use of a dealer car and are scheduled to receive a $10,000 Nike contract supplement on or about Feb. 1 of each year.
