Colleague Mark Schlabach updated his "Way-Too-Early" Top 25 with signing day in the books, but if you didn't know already, Schlabach gives you an idea of just how jumbled the top of the Big 12 will be to kick off 2013.

We already wrote about the Big 12's possible history-making mediocrity when it came to the league's best team (s), but Schlabach has zero Big 12 teams in the top 10 and five from 14-20. I'd probably agree with that spot, though I'd definitely disagree with the order, and in one case, I'd disagree with the teams that are on the list.

Texas checks in on top at No. 14, with Oklahoma right behind at No. 15. Two spots lower is Big 12 newcomer TCU, which will have high hopes in Year 2 in the league.

Kansas State is right there at No. 19, higher than in just about any other top 25 I've seen. I wouldn't have the 'Cats that high, but they make an appearance in the poll after being shut out in the original 2013 top 25. That's definitely the most interesting selection, but I'd make a case for Baylor in that spot instead of Kansas State. K-State should be OK next year, but Bill Snyder will have to produce even more magic with a brand-new quarterback and nine lost starters on one of the Big 12's best defenses from a year ago.

My Big 12 favorite, Oklahoma State, checks in at No. 20, fifth in the Big 12 in this poll. The five teams are close enough that you could make a convincing argument for any of them, but I'm still very surprised to see Baylor left out of the top half of the Big 12 and Kansas State included.
