Ian Kinsler not worried about slow offseason

ARLINGTON, Texas – Ian Kinsler stressed on Tuesday that he likes the current makeup of the Texas Rangers and isn’t concerned that the organization hasn’t been able to fill a few holes yet.

“Things just haven’t fallen into place for us,” Kinsler said. “We’ve obviously made an attempt to acquire players and it just hasn’t happened. Things happen and the ball doesn’t roll your way.”

Kinsler could have been talking about Zack Greinke, who chose the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Texas Rangers. Or perhaps James Shields, who was shipped to the Kansas City Royals in a six-player swap over the weekend.

Josh Hamilton remains on the market and Justin Upton still hasn’t been traded. And if R.A. Dickey doesn't sign an extension, he's a trade possibility as well.

“Whether they make adjustments and try to do something else is up to them,” Kinsler said. “I have complete confidence in the players we have right now. I don’t think there needs to be additions. I’m confident that our front office is going to give us the greatest chance they can to put the best team on the field to win a championship.”
