ESPN.com fantasy baseball writer Eric Karabell has published his top-10 fantasy prospects for the 2013 season and has Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar No. 1. You have to be an insider to read the entire story, but here's part of what Karabell writes on Profar:
He brings the most fantasy upside of the MLB-ready offensive prospects, with intriguing power for a middle infielder, plus speed and terrific plate discipline, and there's no concern about his glove. This isn't Trout, but even in redraft leagues he's worth a late-round selection just in case he emerges in April.

Of course, for Profar to be useful in 2013 he has to play. At this point, he's slated to go to Triple-A Round Rock to start the season. But injuries or Nelson Cruz's situation or something else could change that. We'll see. Still, he's going to be in the big leagues at some point. And if you have a deep keeper league, taking a late-round flier on Profar isn't a bad idea so you have him at a discount for 2014.

Karabell has Leonys Martin at No. 10, by the way. His value would also depend on how the center field situation is sorted out. If it's a platoon, he may not get enough at-bats to be of much use. But if he's the starter, that's a different story.

Karabell listed Mike Olt among the "others to watch." I would think that will change if something happens on the Cruz front and the club decides to see if Olt can play in the outfield at a corner spot. Again, click here for the entire story (insider).

When would you draft Profar in your fantasy keeper league?
