GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Texas Rangers (0-5-1) remain winless this spring after dropping a 8-4 decision to the Chicago White Sox (3-0-2) Wednesday at Camelback Ranch.

What it means: Texas has lost five in a row and is winless in all six spring games this season. Texas is 0-9-1 in its last 10 spring games, dating to the end of the 2012 Cactus League season.

Stress test: Alexi Ogando showed good mettle in the first inning by inducing Paul Konerko to hit into an inning-ending double play after the right-hander loaded the bases with a single and pair of walks.

Costly error: Both runs scored off Ogando were unearned. Second baseman Leury Garcia had an error when he tried to make an off-balance throw across his body to Jurickson Profar, who was covering second. The throw bounced into foul territory on the third-base side and allowed both runners to advance into scoring position. Chicago followed with a sacrifice fly and single to account for those runs.

Rare air: Robbie Ross isn't used to being taken deep, as he was when Konerko hit a fifth-inning two-run home run that landed on the padding on top of the left-field wall and bounced over. Last season, Ross allowed only three home runs in 65 innings with Texas. At the time, Ross was one out from throwing three scoreless innings.

Two-out rallies: Of the eight runs scored by Chicago on Wednesday, six crossed the plate with two outs.

What's next? Texas hosts the Cleveland Indians on Thursday at 2:05 p.m. CT. LHP Derek Holland (0-0, 3.00) will make his second start of the spring. RHP Zach McAllister will start for Cleveland.
