Rapid Reaction: Rangers 7, Indians 6
What this means
Texas owns a spring-high, three-game winning streak and boasts a .500 record for the first time this spring. The Rangers are also unbeaten since Mar. 3, including ties.
Texas sent 10 batters to the plate during its five-run fourth inning. Four of the runs were scored with two outs.
Starter Robbie Ross was removed from the game after 2.2 innings, having allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks. He also struck out two in what was a rare difficult outing this spring.
Holland starts for USA
Rangers pitcher Derek Holland made the start for Team USA in its World Baseball Classic matchup against Canada, with the winner advancing to the semifinals of the tournament. In five innings, Holland allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and a walk. The left-hander threw 64 pitches and left with the game tied 2-2. USA ultimately won 9-4 and will advance.
Baker on base
First baseman Jeff Baker singled and doubled in his first two at-bats, which marked eight consecutive plate appearances in which he has reached base (seven hits, one walk). A groundout in the fifth ended the streak.
OF Craig Gentry hit his second home run of the spring in 21 at-bats. During his major league career, Gentry has two home runs in 423 at-bats in parts of four seasons.
Jurickson Profar had one of his best offensive games of the spring, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He entered Sunday hitting .185 (5-27).
Two by four
Four Rangers had multi-hit games: Profar, Baker, Gentry and Leonys Martin each had a pair of hits.
Texas has gone five consecutive games without a fielding error.
Five Rangers pitchers combined to strike out 10 batters and walk nine.
