Former Mavericks forward Eduardo Najera is slated to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday's Rangers-Mexico City Rojas Diablos game.

Najera, always a fan favorite for the Mavericks, was just the second native of Mexico to play in the NBA when he debuted with the Mavericks in 2000.

This is the second consecutive year the Rangers have played the Red Devils in Arlington, so Najera was a natural selection to throw out the first pitch.

Najera played for five teams in 12 NBA season, including his first four seasons with the Mavericks (2000-04) and again in Dallas in 2010. Najera is currently the head coach of the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League.
