It's the sixth All-Star selection for Nathan. It's the second for Darvish and Cruz.

"Any time you get to go to those these, it's an honor," Nathan said. "Especially being able to come over to a new team and be able to make the signing show they trust you to come out and perform and do it on the field, that means a lot too. Even though it's the sixth time, it's special, especially going back to New York that's special too, going back to my hometown."

Cruz leads all AL outfielders with 21 home runs and 65 RBIs. He is batting .268 and has played in 83 of the Rangers' 86 games.

"It's more special because it's in New York," Cruz said. "My family will be there and friends."

Nathan has 28 saves, third in the AL behind Baltimore's Jim Johnson and the Yankees' Mariano Rivera. Nathan has converted all but one of his save opportunities.

Darvish leads the majors with 151 strikeouts, the most before the All-Star break since the Chicago Cubs' Kerry Wood had 156 in 2003. Darvish is third in the AL with a 2.78 ERA.

Former Ranger Chris Davis, who leads the majors with 33 home runs, will start at first base. He was the leading vote-getter.

Tanner Scheppers is eligible for the Final Vote, determined by the fans. He has a 1.48 ERA, sixth lowest among AL relievers. He is tied for fourth in the AL with five relief wins and is tied for fourth with 17 holds.

Cruz finished third in outfielder player voting behind Adam Jones and Mike Trout.

Darvish was fourth in pitcher voting. Nathan was third among relievers in voting behind Rivera and Jesse Crain.
