ARLINGTON, Texas -- There was no Matt Garza trade to the Texas Rangers after all on Friday night.
Rangers infield prospects Mike Olt and Luis Sardinas and pitchers Neil Ramirez and C.J. Edwards were all rumored as possible players to be dealt in exchange for the Cubs right-hander on Friday. But Ramirez started and allowed five runs for Double-A Frisco, and Olt and Sardinas both played in their minor league games.
Meanwhile, Garza worked out for the Chicago Cubs before their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in advance of his scheduled start for Monday.

The Rangers just went about their business and the night ended with a 3-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
Rangers manager Ron Washington said before the game he's only concerned with the players on his current roster.
"I'll get excited if what we're talking about comes to fruition," Washington said. "I'm not going to get excited if the property we're talking about is not ours.
“This is a tough business. You've got to play with what you have. That's the attitude we have."
