The Texas Rangers claimed right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday and will add him to the 40-man roster.

Roe, 27, made his big league debut with Arizona in 2013, going 1-0 with a 4.03 ERA over 21 games in four different stints last year. He was with Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno the rest of the season, posting a combined 0-1 with a 1.11 ERA in 25 relief appearances. He was also on the Laredo Lemurs in the independent American Association, where he was managed by former Ranger Pete Incaviglia.

Roe was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the supplemental first round of the 2005 draft.

The Rangers have 34 players on the 40-man roster (and two pitchers -- Matt Harrison and Edwar Cabrera -- on the 60-day DL).
