British junior lightweight titlist Stephen Smith was scheduled to defend his belt Dec. 7 on a card on which his brothers, British junior middleweight champion Liam Smith and British super middleweight champ Paul Smith, are also slated to make defenses. It was an unprecedented situation in which three brothers all held British titles and would defend them on the same show.
But now that won't happen, as Stephen Smith has jumped promoters, signing with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sport. In his first fight with the company, Stephen Smith will instead defend the British title on Nov. 23 in Manchester, England on the undercard of super middleweight titlist Carl Froch's defense against George Groves.
