Barring a trade, Utah could miss out on landing one of the three top-rated point guards expected to be available in the 2013 NBA draft -- Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart, Michigan's Trey Burke and Syracuse's Michael Carter-Williams. If that happens, what will the Jazz do?
Utah won't have much in the way of players to offer up via trade: only Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors, Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks and Jeremy Evans are even eligible to be traded. The problem is, Kanter, Favors, Gordon and even Burks are players the Jazz would like to build around, not trade away. And Evans, while a dunking machine, doesn't hold much in the way of trade value. That means, unless the Jazz trade picks to move up in the draft, they could very well miss out on Smart, Burke and Carter-Williams -- especially if Dallas ends up picking ahead of them.
