EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Chris Kaman (back) will not play in the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

Kaman did not play in the Lakers' 102-95 win against the Golden State Warriors after he "took a blow in the back" during a practice, according to Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni.

The 11-year veteran is averaging 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds this season and started three games for L.A., however he had already begun to find himself on the outskirts of D'Antoni's rotation before the back injury.

Kaman played just six minutes in the Lakers' 114-99 win over the Detroit Pistons last Sunday, going 1-for-4 from the field for two points to go with one rebound off the bench, while Jordan Hill put up career highs in points (24) and rebounds (17) in 36 minutes as the starter alongside Pau Gasol.

"We'll see how everything works out (when Kaman gets healthy), but Jordan obviously is eating up the bulk of the minutes," D'Antoni said.

Also on the injury front, Kobe Bryant (Achilles) did not participate in the team's shootaround, but did undergo "about an hour" of individual work on the court, according to D'Antoni.

"He looked good," D'Antoni said.

Bryant will not play against Sacramento, however.

D'Antoni said that Bryant would not require any additional team practices before making his return to game action, whenever he chooses to do so.

"He knows our basic principles," D'Antoni said. "It would be better (for Bryant to practice more), but it's not necessary."

The Lakers don't practice again until Tuesday, Dec. 3, after their upcoming three-game road trip through Washington, Brooklyn and Detroit.
