Three-star offensive tackle Maurice Porter (Missouri City, Texas/Marshall) switched his pledge Monday from Texas Tech to Baylor, multiple sources report. He originally selected the Red Raiders in July.
Colorado, Houston, Indiana, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Texas A&M and West Virginia also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 284-pound senior. Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon and SMU showed interest.
ESPN describes Porter as "a tough battler who is able to dominate as both a run and pass blocker... his athleticism and toughness should allow for a long and productive career at the BCS level of play."
The Bears now have 23 players on board for 2013.
