The Jets have kept open the lines of communication with free-agent QB David Garrard, but no deal is imminent, a source said Sunday.
If a deal gets done, it wouldn't happen for at least another week. The Jets have more immediate concerns as they gear up for the start of free agency, March 12. There is mutual interest, though, so stay tuned.
Garrard, 35, who hasn't played in two years because of back and knee injuries, worked out for the Jets last Thursday. They're expected to add two quarterbacks while removing Tim Tebow from the depth chart at some point.
