Jenrry Mejia, who was dispatched to New York for additional testing after an initial physical raised a thyroid issue, has been cleared to resume baseball, Terry Collins said.

“Mejia is fine,” the manager added. “He’ll be back tomorrow, ready to go -- no limitations.”

Also on the injury front:

Daniel Murphy (intercostal strain on right side) is nearing a return to game action. Murphy should be facing live pitching, at least from a coach, in a cage Friday for the first time since receiving a cortisone shot on Feb. 19.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis (bruised knee) ran on an underwater treadmill Thursday.

“His flexibility is getting better,” Collins said. “The swelling is gone down.”

Said Nieuwenhuis: "It's gotten better every single day."
