Preseason: 12 | Last Week: 20 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
I mean, how can you argue? I actually ranked them No. 30 this week, as did Ashley Fox. The highest ranking the Giants got this week was No. 27, from Mike Sando, Kevin Seifert and Jamison Hensley. The Giants are, quite simply, one of the worst teams in the NFL. After three losses to start the season, including a humiliating 38-0 shutout Sunday in Carolina, no amount of preseason expectation or historically based benefit of the doubt can mitigate this. This team stinks right now and deserves to be down there at the bottom of the poll with Oakland, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville.
At 0-3, the Giants get kind of a break coming in ahead of the 1-2 Raiders. Three of the league's five other winless teams -- the Vikings, Redskins and Steelers -- rank ahead of them. But we're really just splitting hairs down here at the bottom of the poll, where the Giants are one of a few teams that aren't normally part of this mess.
