Off-field incidents involving NFL players tend to spike during the offseason. This can be particularly concerning for players with a history of known off-field problems -- players such as Arizona Cardinals rookie Tyrann Mathieu, who was kicked off the team at LSU and has admitted to once having a problem with marijuana.
Mathieu, fresh off the Rookie Symposium, told ESPN's Coach & Company that he has a plan for keeping busy during idle times. For example, Mathieu said he plans to enroll at Arizona State next offseason to finish his four-year degree.
Mathieu also credited former Cardinals and St. Louis Rams safety Aeneas Williams for offering words of advice that resonated with him this offseason.
