TEMPE, Ariz. -- Even the Pro Football Hall of Fame noticed Patrick Peterson's historic day.

During the Cardinals’ 25-21 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Peterson became the first NFL defender since at least the 1970 merger to post a reception and a completion in the same game. To commemorate the feat, the Hall of Fame will display Peterson’s gloves and the ball used on his 17-yard pass to receiver Kerry Taylor.

This is Peterson’s second appearance in the Hall of Fame.

During his rookie season in 2011, Peterson tied a league record with four punt returns for touchdowns in one season. His cleats used in the Nov. 6, 2011 game against the St. Louis Rams, when Peterson returned a punt 99 yards for a game-winning touchdown in overtime, were sent to the Hall to be part of its permanent collection.
