INDIANAPOLIS -- The challenge to beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday just got even more difficult for the Indianapolis Colts.

Starting middle linebacker Pat Angerer is not making the trip to the Bay Area because of a knee injury. He’ll remain in Indianapolis with safety and league-leading tackler LaRon Landry (ankle).

Not having Angerer and Landry is good news for a 49ers offense that was put on lockdown by Seattle last weekend.

The Colts are now officially without five starters for Sunday. Angerer and Landry join running back Vick Ballard (knee), tight end Dwayne Allen (hip) and guard Donald Thomas (quad), who are all out for the season with injuries, on the list of injured players.
