Lundqvist misses practice for third day

October, 23, 2013
GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Make this the third straight day that New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has missed practice with what the team is calling a "minor issue."

Obviously, that makes his status for Thursday's game extremely questionable. Logic would dictate that backup Cam Talbot will make his NHL debut against the Flyers in Philly.

Should Talbot start against the struggling Flyers, the Rangers will have to recall a goaltender from the American Hockey League in advance of the game.

The Rangers are already in bad shape with a 2-5-0 start to the season. Losing their former Vezina Trophy winner for any amount of time could be a debilitating blow for the team, no matter how shaky Lundqvist has looked lately.
