The first half of the shortened season is nearly complete, and the New York Rangers certainly haven't gotten off to the start they were hoping for. At 10-8-2, all is not lost by any means. But, if the season were to end today, they'd miss the playoffs by one point -- hardly what anyone would have expected from a team that was picked by many as the Stanley Cup favorites.
