You might want to start booking those flights to Miami.

No. 1 Kansas State lost. No. 2 Oregon followed suit minutes later and Notre Dame is now the lone eligible unbeaten team and presumed No. 1 team in the country, pending the release of Sunday night's BCS standings.

All that stands between the Irish and a trip to the Jan. 7 BCS title game is next Saturday's USC game at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Beat the arch-rival Trojans, and those tickets to South Florida are booked.

Unbelievable.

The other biggest beneficiary Saturday is likely the SEC, which has a path back into the BCS title picture, as the winner of the conference title game would presumably take the other of the two spots that opened up with the Wildcats' and Ducks' losses.

Brian Kelly's next scheduled media gig is Sunday's teleconference at 2 p.m. ET. Think he'll hammer home the importance of one game at a time?

He has been right about one thing all season long: Win, and everything else will take care of itself.
