Sunday night's BCS standings release reaffirmed everyone's expected postseason outcome.
Notre Dame (.9979), the BCS No. 1 team, is destined for the Jan. 7 national title game against the winner of Saturday's SEC title game.
Alabama (.9236) and Georgia (.8911) are Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, and will square off this weekend in Atlanta in the de-facto play-in game for the national title.
The SEC, as usual, dominated the standings, holding six of the top 10 spots. Oregon (.8626) came in at No. 5, with Kansas State (.7735) a distant sixth.
The Irish have beaten everyone they have faced this season -- three Big Ten schools, three ACC schools, two Pac-12 schools, one Big East, one Big 12 and two independents.
As if a 12-0 record is not enough right now, the Irish will get a chance to further validate their claim to the top spot in six weeks, as they will have the chance to stop the SEC's streak of six straight national titles.
