Former Notre Dame quarterback Gunner Kiel has visited Cincinnati, but is keeping his options open, he told Joe Schad of ESPN on Tuesday.

Kiel announced last month that he would transfer from Notre Dame after one season. In the time since then, he has been contacted by Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Kansas State. Tennessee, Ball State, Northern Illinois and Miami (Ohio) are also all options.

"The biggest factor for me now going through it all again is having a great relationship with my position coach," said Kiel, adding that he knows he'll have to sit out another season, so he wants to go to a school where he can compete for the starting position in 2014.

Incidentally, Cincinnati is set to have a quarterback opening in 2014.
