Both Tyler Eifert and Manti Te'o said on pro day that they would not be in New York for the NFL Draft, choosing instead to watch with their families at home. The NFL announced the list of guests Wednesday.
How long it takes for either to hear his name called come April 25 is a matter of debate, but certain scenarios appear more likely than others. Todd McShay touches on those in his latest mock draft, which is scenario-based.
McShay says that teams should start looking at the former Notre Dame linebacker in the 20-32 range of the draft, adding that Te'o would fit right in with the Bears' scheme. The Minnesota Vikings (Nos. 23, 25), Denver Broncos (No. 28) and Atlanta Falcons (No. 30) could be other teams that scoop Te'o up, McShay says.
Both former Irish players have moved up on McShays' draft board, with Eifert going from No. 16 to No. 14 and Te'o jumping from No. 28 to No. 24.
Eifert and Te'o held steady on Mel Kiper Jr.'s 25-man Big Board at Nos. 12 and 17, respectively, and each tops his position group on Kiper's top-5s by position.
