No. 19 hopes a new season brings better health and more opportunities.
No. 19: Amir Carlisle, RB
Previous ranking: Not ranked
Making the case: Carlisle broke his ankle before the spring of 2012 and eventually had to redshirt during the season, rendering his waiver from the NCAA to play immediately following his transfer from USC irrelevant. He broke his collarbone this spring after strong reviews but was close to full-strength by the Blue-Gold game. Carlisle has a real opportunity this fall to make some noise on an offense looking for playmakers, as the running back corps will be led by the electric George Atkinson III, who has little experience as an every-down back and who will also likely be lined up in the slot at times. Carlisle rushed 19 times for 118 yards as a true freshman with the Trojans in 2011, hauling in seven passes for 41 yards and a score.
