Rees named offensive player of week

Tommy Rees received a game ball for his efforts in Saturday's win. On Monday, he received the FBS independent offensive player of the week award.

Rees tallied his third straight 300-yard game Saturday, completing 20 of 33 throws for 309 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Notre Dame's 31-24 win at Purdue.

He is now seventh in the nation in passing yards on the season, as he has tallied 969 yards to go with seven touchdowns and two picks.

Rees won the award in Week 1, too, for his performance in a win over Temple.
