Alabama and Oregon. Oregon and Alabama. The two programs have been arguably the nation's two-best of the past five seasons or so, and they appear to be on even more of a collision course this season.

For now, they remain tied for the top spot in ESPN.com's Power Rankings. And the Ducks' star quarterback, Marcus Mariota, has solidified himself as the midseason frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy.

As for Notre Dame and its postseason possibilities, both Mark Schlabach and Brad Edwards have the Irish slated for the AdvoCare V100 Bowl, with Mark having the Irish face NC State and Brad predicting they will face Duke.

Here is how I voted in this week's Power Rankings and Heisman Watch. (Of note: I do not have a vote in the Associated Press poll or a vote for the Heisman Trophy.)

Notre Dame wasn't at its best on Saturday night, but it was still good enough to beat in-state rival Purdue in Indianapolis.
