Scutaro out Tuesday after shot

BOSTON -- Red Sox shortstop Marco Scutaro had a cortisone shot in his neck on Monday and did not play against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first game of a three-game set Tuesday at Fenway Park.

The shot, which according to manager Terry Francona was a nerve-root injection, had been planned for the off day so Scutaro wouldn't miss much playing time. He's been bothered by a stiff neck for the majority of the season and said Tuesday afternoon it still feels the same as before he had ...
