Healing is a family affair for Johnsons

In an inspiring tale, daughter of Red Sox coach thriving after losing leg in accident

MORRISON, Tenn. -- In the small, dimly lit Hickory Grove Baptist Church in the woods of this middle Tennessee town, a Christmas play is being performed and a beautiful 11-year-old girl makes her way onto the makeshift stage.

She sits on a bench, drops her pink and purple crutches beside her and speaks her line, finishing with a giggle. The 30 or so people in the audience look around at one another and smile, knowing life is back to normal for the Johnson family.
