Red Sox trade Mike Cameron to Marlins

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox have traded outfielder Mike Cameron and cash to the Florida Marlins in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Cameron, 38, was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on June 30 after appearing in 33 games this season, while batting .149 with two doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, nine runs and eight walks.
