Schoeneweis on Red Sox's roster

The Boston Red Sox finalized their Opening Day 25-man roster by adding reliever Scott Schoeneweis and putting right-handed pitchers Daisuke Matsuzaka and Junichi Tazawa on the disabled list, the team announced in a statement Sunday.

Matsuzaka is on the 15-day DL with a neck strain while Tazawa is on the 60-day after right elbow surgery.

The Red Sox host the New York Yankees in the big league opener on Sunday night. Josh Beckett is set to take the mound for Boston. He'll square off against Yankees ace CC Sabathia.

Here is the Red Sox's season-opening roster:

PITCHERS (12): Scott Atchison, Daniel Bard, Josh Beckett, Clay Buchholz, Manny Delcarmen, John Lackey, Jon Lester, Hideki Okajima, Jonathan Papelbon, Ramon Ramirez, Scott Schoeneweis, Tim Wakefield.

CATCHERS (2): Victor Martinez, Jason Varitek.

INFIELDERS (7): Adrian Beltre, Bill Hall, Mike Lowell, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Marco Scutaro, Kevin Youkilis.

OUTFIELDERS (4): Mike Cameron, J.D. Drew, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jeremy Hermida.
