The NBA fined Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce $15,000 Saturday for throwing an object into the stands during Tuesday's triumph over the Indiana Pacers.

The incident occurred with 8 minutes, 2 seconds remaining in the first quarter of Boston's 95-83 win over the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

This is the second fine this week incurred by a Celtics player. Shaquille O'Neal was fined $35,000 for public criticism of officials.
