BOSTON -- A Moroccan Olympian in the field for the Boston Marathon is still stuck at home because of the ash cloud spewed from the Icelandic volcano.
Abdellah Falil, who competed in the 10,000 meters in Beijing, is now hoping to fly from Casablanca to New York and New York to Boston on Sunday.
The 114th edition of the Boston Marathon starts at 10 a.m. Monday.
Falil had planned to fly through Paris on Wednesday, but his flights and the ones he was rebooked on have been among the hundreds canceled.
Dozens of others in the field who are stranded have contacted organizers. European competitors who can't pick up their race bibs this weekend can do so Monday morning.
